New Walmart Identity

If you have seen recent Walmart ads on TV or in magazines you have seen glimpses of the new identity. While I don’t think its the official release, Walmart has put up a short article about the logo.
ARTICLE
I don’t shop at Walmart and don’t approve of many of their business practices but the new logo is definitely a friendlier look. The logo is still safe and boring but it speaks volumes over the bold cap letters of the previous logo. However, I think Walmart’s brand reputation will have more to do with their corporate behavior and less to do with their new identity. The logo, mediocre at best, is what you would expect to get from Walmart.
This update, as stated on the Walmart website, is simply a reflection of the refresh taking place inside our stores and our renewed sense of purpose to help people save money so they can live better.
